When you sell tickets on site for a seated event, you can select many seats at once and add them to the basket in one go – for example, a whole block for a group. Multiple selection is available on the seat map of the Sales interface. For an introduction to the Sales interface, see Sales users.
Multiple selection works on desktop only, and only in the Sales interface. Customers buying online select their seats one by one, as described in Manage and sales of seated events.
Turning on multiple selection
Open the event in the Sales interface and go to the seat map. You can turn on multiple selection in two ways:
click the selection icon on the left, below the Tiers box, then switch on Multiple selection active in the Selection box
press Shift on your keyboard – multiple selection switches on automatically
While it's on, the box at the top of the map shows Multi select mode is on.
Releasing Shift doesn't switch multiple selection off. To go back to selecting single seats, switch off Multiple selection active in the Selection box.
Selecting seats
Click a seat to add it to your selection.
Hold Shift and drag over an area to select every seat inside it.
You can combine the two, and your selection can include seats from several tiers. The Selection box shows how many seats you've selected in each tier.
Adding the selection to the basket
Click Proceed in the Selection box.
In the Ticket type window, click Choose next to the ticket type you want for the selected seats.
If your selection includes more than one tier, the window takes you through the tiers one by one (Step 1 out of 2, Step 2 out of 2, and so on). Use Back to previous tier if you want to change an earlier choice.
Once every tier has a ticket type, the seats are added to the basket and you can continue to checkout with Pay.
The seats in the basket are reserved for you for 15 minutes – the remaining time is shown at the top of the basket. If you don't complete the purchase in time, the seats become available again.
Emptying the basket
To start over, click Remove all items at the top of the basket. This removes every item from the basket at once, so you don't have to delete seats one by one.
